Good Friday: Puente de Vallecas Kicks Off

Good Friday marks the beginning of the celebrations, and Puente de Vallecas does so with two processions. The first, of the Christ of Forgiveness, will depart from the parish of San Ramón Nonato at 7:30 p.m. The second, of the Christ of the Well and Our Lady of Sorrows, will leave from the parish of San Raimundo de Peñafort at 8:00 p.m.


Palm Sunday: Four Processions to Start Holy Week in Madrid

Palm Sunday brings four prominent processions, including that of the Brotherhood of the Little Donkey and the Holy Christ of Faith and Health. The first starts from the Almudena Cathedral at 3:30 p.m., while the second starts from the church of the same name at 3:45 p.m.


Holy Monday: Procession of the Seven Words of the Holy Christ of the Way

On Holy Monday, from the parish of Our Lady of Delights, the procession of the Seven Words of the Holy Christ of the Way and Mary Mother of Delights sets off at 8:00 p.m.


Holy Wednesday: Processions in the Center of Madrid

On Holy Wednesday, the parish of Santiago and San Juan Bautista gives way to the procession of the Holy Christ of the Three Falls and Our Lady of Hope at 7:45 p.m. Also noteworthy is the procession of the Brotherhood of the Gypsies from the parish of Our Lady of Carmen and St. Louis Bishop at 8:30 p.m.


Holy Thursday: Madrid's Most Emblematic Images Take to the Streets

On Holy Thursday, Madrid is filled with devotion with processions such as that of Jesus the Poor from the church of San Pedro el Viejo at 6:15 p.m., and that of the Great Power and the Macarena from the Royal Collegiate Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel and San Isidro at 6:00 p.m.


Good Friday: Madrid is Impregnated with Silence and Contemplation

On Good Friday, the processions of the Divine Captive, Jesus of Medinaceli, and the Christ of the Halberdiers stand out among others. Holy Saturday closes the processions with the departure of the Virgin of Solitude and the Holy Christ Lying Down from the church of the Royal Conception of Calatrava at 4:00 p.m.
